The World's Greatest Bars:

Every once in a while, the gang here at The Glenmont Group likes to go out and have an adult beverage (or two), this is the site that we go to when we want to discover a great place to have a drink. It lists the most amazing bars in over 70 cities around the world, including most major cites in the U.S.. Make sure for go to the NYC link and lookup The Campbell Apartment. Voted one of the best bars in America, Campbell’s is the barn-sized office of businessman John W. Campbell on a ground floor in Grand Central Station. Transformed into the galleried hall of a 13th-century Florentine palace, it’s leased out for parties and music evenings. Full of Renaissance antiques, grand pianos and organs, it’s Gatsby glamour meets Capote cool; a real-life fairy tale in New York. Also, be sure to look throught the rest of the links on this site, this way the next time you find yourself in San Francisco, London or Bombay, you won't end up having drinks at the hotel bar with the rest of those people who were not smart enough to bookmark this site.(like I did before I found this site).

Wolfgang's Vault:

Wolfgang was Bill Graham (promoter), the man whose genius for bringing performer and audience together shaped the rock concert as we have come to know it.

This Concert Vault is one of the largest collections of live concert recordings available to the public. This unique and diverse trove of musical miscellany was amassed from mastered recordings from the archives of Bill Graham Presents, the King Biscuit Flower Hour radio show, and Silver Eagle Cross Country radio show.

The Concert Vault currently features approximately 400 live recordings (with hundreds more to be added) that connect music fans to historical, candid moments of rock and roll, punk, country and other genres. There is nowhere else a person can go to experience legendary performances that range from Merle Haggard to Mothers of Invention to Bruce Springsteen to the Ramones, all in one place.

The Darwin Awards:

A Darwin Award is a tongue-in-cheek "honor" named after evolutionary theorist Charles Darwin. Awards have been presented since 1991, however some are awarded for feats which have met the criteria even as early as 1874. It "honours" certain people who kill themseles accidentally by attempting to do stupid feats or making careless mistakes, more precisely as mentioned in the Darwin Award books: The Awards honour people who ensure the long-term survival of the human race by removing themselves from the gene pool in a sublimely idiotic fashion. While an attempt is made to disallow urban legends from the awards, some older winners have been 'grandfathered' to keep their awards.[1]

Snopes:

All right, I'll admit we all love Urban Legends here at the Glenmont Group, ( and are probably guilty of creating a few ourselves. ) but they are just that, myths.

Snopes aims to debunk or confirm widely spread urban legends. The site is referenced by numerous other sites, directing people to more information about various hoaxes, especially in regard to chain e-mails. Although they research their topics heavily and provide references when possible, not all of their sources (especially those which are personal interviews, phone calls, or e-mails) are fully verifiable. Where appropriate, pages are generally marked "undetermined" or "unverifiable" if the Mikkelsons feel there is not enough evidence to either support or disprove a given claim.

The Onion:

The Onion is an award-winning parody newspaper published weekly in print and daily online. It features satirical articles reporting on international, national, and local news as well as an entertainment newspaper and website known as The A.V. Club.

The Onion's articles comment on current events, both real and imagined. It parodies traditional newspaper features, such as editorials, man-on-the-street interviews, and stock quotes, as well as traditional newspaper layout and AP-style editorial voice.

Weird New Jersey:

Weird NJ began in 1989 as a personal newsletter sent to friends by Mark Moran and Mark Sceurman. Gradually it evolved into a public magazine published twice a year in May and October. Abandoned places, creepy experiences, unique people, and strange landmarks were and still are common subjects for the magazine. Past issues have covered everything from the Jersey Devil and UFO sightings to abandoned Nike missile silos and the life of Zip the Pinhead. This will help explain why we are all just a little bit different here at The Glenmont Group!

Steven Wright Quotes:

Steven Alexander Wright (born December 6, 1955) is an Academy Award-winning American stand-up comedian, actor, and writer from Burlington, Massachusetts. He is known for his slow, deadpan, monotone delivery of ironic, witty, deeply philosophical and sometimes confusing jokes and one-liners with overly contrived situations.
